My philosophy is that there is absolutely no point in punishing yourself when trying to stay healthy and lose weight. You need to allow yourself to have fun. Honestly nothing makes you more depressed than a fitness plan that is rooted in the idea that you need to sacrifice and punish your body. When you approach fitness with the “I hate my body” mentality, you eventually give up. Once I started looking at fitness as feeling good and loving myself, I saw so much more success and motivation. The thing that we need to remember is that working out and having a healthy lifestyle takes time and patience.
This week has definitely been full of cheats for me My husband had a few of his friends from England come to visit, so of course we had to show them the great food and beer Denver has to offer.
Whenever our family and friends from England come to visit, we know we better put our stretchy pants on! What screams America more than greasy food and craft beer? A good burger is always on the list of places to go and there is really only one place to go for a good burger in Denver…Duffy’s Cherry Cricket.
You may remember Cherry Cricket from food networks episode “The Best Thing I Ever Ate”. It is also a staple of Denver culture. So, now that I have your full attention and hopefully, if you live in Denver you have been here before, I invite you to live vicariously through me. I ordered a Cherry Cricket burger with smoked cheddar cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce, and Avocado. I ate every bit of it, and it did wonders for my hangover I had from the night before. NO REGRETS!
Tonight will not be any better as I go for round two in the Denver Bar scene, looks like this week I may need to finally sign up for my Orange Theory Gym membership. #SorryI’mNotSorry.
Sometimes it’s okay to indulge, so on this snowy weekend in Denver, go on and #Treatyoself.
